This is not for serious musicians, GP is win against Tuxguitar or Kguitar. Beside this tuxguitar lack many important features

Yep, they absolutely are compatible with GP3/4/5 files. I’ve tested them myself. For me, kguitar didn’t work with those files. Tuxguitar worked good.

Are they compatible with GP files? Because if they are not, a major utility of Guitar Pro goes moot — viewing the popular tabs/notations.

Lemme check out. Just hope that I don’t have to install extra GUI libraries; at least for that “tuxguitar”.
